Rudy Ernst has been the inspiration for the latest work of the grade 2 students. He is an artist who uses Action Painting as a way of expressing himself. Action Painting is a style of painting in which paint is spontaneously dribbled, splashed or smeared onto the canvas. The students along with their knowledge of using lines have created colourful and interesting artworks. Here are some of their comments:
“I love moving with the music when I am painting”
“We want to create lines with the paint to see what the paint does”
“I like the textures, it creates lines”
” we are experimenting with what happens when we roll it in paint”
“we are trying to bring back some of the lines as the paint has taken over”
